Dossier social étudiant 2022: How to apply for a grant and accommodation?

Since 15 January 2022, students and future baccalaureate holders can already apply for a grant based on social criteria and/or Crous accommodation for the start of the 2022-2023 academic year. They must fill in a Student Social File (Dossier Social Etudiant) and send it before 15 May 2022 to the Centre régional des œuvres universitaires et scolaires (CROUS), which manages the applications.

This file allows students to benefit from an exemption from tuition fees as well as financial aid of up to 6,900 euros and to have priority access to social student housing.

First, and before applying, you must check your eligibility on the simulateur.lescrous.fr website.

Then, you must go to the site dedicated to the registration of student social file applications: messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr. If you have already been registered on Parcoursup for the last 4 years, you already have a MesServices account.

It is on this platform that you will be able to enter all your personal information and provide all the requested supporting documents. A tax notice must be provided, either yours or your parents’. Proof of schooling and that of your siblings if they are in higher education is required. Students of foreign nationality must also provide a certificate from their parents stating, on their honour, whether or not they have income from abroad.

Between 1 and 3 months to process applications.

Before the end of June, the decision on your scholarship application will be sent to you by e-mail via a conditional scholarship notice. If you are granted a scholarship, you will then have to enrol in the chosen establishment by sending this document. You will then be guaranteed an early payment of your first monthly grant from the end of August.

And concerning social student housing, an e-mail will be sent to you in May. If you receive a favourable reply, you must then log on to trouverunlogement.lescrous.fr and apply for accommodation within 7 days.

However, if the response is negative, you will have to wait until 8 July 2022 to go to this platform.

Then, from September 2022, you will be able to receive your grant and move into the new accommodation.

If you do not fill in the Dossier Social Etudiant before 15 May 2022, your application will be considered out of time and will be processed later. So don’t hesitate, now is the time!
